11 September 2019 – DAY 7 (Logrono)
We slept late and only left Logrono at about 12 after having breakfast. Easy walk but extremely hot today. My legs burnt at the back. I gave a lot of things away to make my bag lighter and one of the items was my sun cream stupid! I’ll have to put the powder stuff on for tomorrow. Will be 27 tomorrow 😳 Sitting here and wait for restaurants to open at 7:30. Will leave early to avoid heat of midday. Lovely walk towards the end picking grapes (tempranillo) off the vineyards, almonds and pears. First time that I see an almond tree. Amazing to listen to the conversations between young guys…concerned about their weight. Seems as though I’m stuck with these guys. Alec, Andrew, Andrew, Victor and Bob. They were such lovely guys, and I was glad that they allowed me to join their crazy group…. we had a lot of fun. Think I might walk in my walking sandals tomorrow…loads of hills though, so might reconsider. Two things here that are really bothering me… dogs fastened with chains and loads of stupid flies!!!!!!! Oh, my goodness….this Alec (the stand-up comedian), is absolutely hilarious…. laughing so much as he has an extremely dry sense of humour. Walked into town and the church and the alter work is the best preserved in this region and apparently the second most famous?
