26 September 2019 – DAY 22
Noooooo!!!!!!!!! Had a long piece written about today and my battery went flat and lost it all!!!!!!😬 Shoot, it was a lot of info! I’ll try and remember and summarize…. Left early and arrived in Leon at 9am. Had breakfast and fortunately could check in early. Had a snooze and then went to explore the Cathedral. It was built in 1250 and took only 50 years to build. Apparently was built after the fall of the Muslim empire? One of the Gothic churches with the mist lead glass windows – about 1500sq/m in total. Made a sandwich on my bed and watched TV. Couldn’t understand a thing and when even the pictures didn’t make sense, I’ve switched it off and washed all my dirty socks. I’ve met up with Larry for some Rioja and a pilgrim’s meal. Loved sitting on the sidewalk people watching and amazed at how many people I knew from the walk. Went to the Farmacia and bought plasters and drugs. Then bought some spare bits for my hiking poles. Just sprayed my rucksack with insecticide and will do so with the rest later on. Think it’s a good idea at this stage of the journey to get rid of any real and imaginary bugs. Tired and off to sleep now. Oh, and my very nice sunblock container broke…. powder freaking everywhere 🙈
