5 October 2019 – DAY 32 (Portomarin)
Walked 26km today. According to my Fitbit 28☺. We’re staying in an Albergue in Hospital De Cruz, just off the main road. The road was pretty. Galicia is really beautiful, and some areas remind me of the Cotswolds. My sciatica is really giving me a hard time and my painkillers are running out…. Hope to get to some sort of town tomorrow to replenish. Not long now to the finish line. I must be honest…. I’m ready to stop. So, Larry is still walking with me. He is sometimes away with the faeries, because he has lost, I think 2 pairs of socks already. We are sharing a washing machine and….. I think one of his last (or second last) sock fell behind the washing machine. I had such a giggle… We are stuck in the middle of nowhere where the only 2 restaurants are closed today…. go figure…. 😣 A SA guy, his dad and another Dane went to buy some beer. We now sit here, drinking beer and waiting for the lady to come and take our eating order. Actually, they picked us up and took us to a restaurant where the TV is very loud, and they have pink toilet paper – when is the last time I saw pink toilet paper!!!
