23 September 2019 ā DAY 19 (Sahagun)
I’m now in a place called Terradillos De los Templarios. What a walk! It started with a 17km stretch with nothing along the way…no shop, no toilet, no village, not even trees…āŗ It was on a loose gravel road and really hard work. Because it is on one level, your ankles and calve muscles ceases up quickly. And…..it was freaking freezing!! I’ve never been that cold walking. I’ve walked a slow and steady pace with Hartmut from Bremen. It was a 28km day. A very nice Albergue where I’m staying. I’ve done my washing and am now sitting in the sun looking at Aussies showing off yoga poses š³. Met up with Larry again last night. Anyway…I’m going to have a massage at 5pm and looking forward to it. Iām now going to start working out my next few days walking to Leon. Oh yea…Hartmut taught me that incense originally comes from a plant – Frankincense. We walked past some and could smell ‘church’. Had dinner with two guys that’s been with me in the two previous Albergues. One is Portuguese and can only speak French as another language and the other one is French with poor English. We managed to have amazing conversations between all the translations š
