14 September 2019 – DAY 10 (Santo Domingo de la Caldeza)
Did not sleep much last night due to noisy roommates, so got up early and started the day’s walk. Gruñó was a lively first stop for breakfast. They were playing music all through the town. It was nice. Struggled to walk until we stopped for long lunch. Met a German guy who shared the table and had a long chat with him in German. It was great to know that I can still communicate in German – the last time I had such a long conversation was in school! Found a lovely Albergue with a pool where I am dying to swim, but no costume and NOT in my panty! 😳It was pouring with rain!! Third day in a row for showering in ice cold water 😢 During Easter they walk in procession with the ‘open cast’ as shown in one of the pictures. I know there is a name for it but can’t remember.
